Development Opportunity

……….

The Clinton Economic Development Commission is comprised of 7 dedicated residents, appointed by and reporting to the Board of Selectmen; supported by the full-time Town Planner. The EDC is a vibrant force in helping this naturally blessed town achieves its full potential by executing its mission to:
Proactively promote and maintain a business-friendly environment, support current businesses, attract and facilitate new businesses that will prosper, enhance the quality of life and complement the town’s Plan of Conservation and Development while expanding the tax base.
Clinton is a warm, welcoming and inviting town; a vibrant and energetic community; a mix of “Connecticut Yankee” families who have resided here for generations and folks from across the country and around the world. It is home to Clinton Crossing Premium Outlets (a Simon Property) which attracts over 4 million visitors each year and Chamard Vineyards, a beautiful stop along the Connecticut Wine Trail.
Education has been a Clinton distinction since Charles Morgan endowed the historic Morgan School in 1872. Its modern successor, a new, state-of-the-art high school was recently opened.
Longstanding favorite seafood eateries are now complemented by a host of exciting new restaurants; all near to some of the best deep-water marinas anywhere. Clinton is on the move and much is happening: great venues offering live entertainment from opera to blues to Celtic bands, a thriving performing and fine arts community, regular stage productions, the Kidz Konnection theater troupe for aspiring thespians and the very successful Clinton Sailing Club for young seafarers.
The Board of Selectmen’s business focus, guided by the Town’s Plan of Conservation and Development, has resulted in Indian River Landing, a major new mixed-use project underway in the I-95 interchange zone with a hotel, up-market condos, restaurants and retail stores. Located across from Clinton Crossing Premium Outlets this is a transformative development for the town adding to both our current economy and future investment. The Amtrak railroad station, located in the town center is undergoing a major renovation along with improved train schedules.
Stay for a few nights at one of Clinton’s charming historic bed and breakfasts or in one of the many shoreline cottages, walkable to sand and sea. Walk or bike the new green/blueway or along many land trust nature trails. From Charter fishing to the revived local shellfish industry Clinton offers more variety to experience nature, kayak, sail, party and relax.
Clinton, CT: a very attractive, accessible and (still) affordable town; a great place to start a business, a family and a life.
